The Unexpected

Control Your Frame!

I was in Sam’s Club the other day and the person in front of me handed the cashier their Sam’s Club card. When the cashier slid the card she said “Your card has expired”. The guy said “Really? I thought it didn’t expire until June”. The guy began to get upset because he only expected to pay for the items he had. Now he had to pay an extra almost $50 dollars in order to renew his membership so that he could purchase his items! He took a deep breath and realized all he had to do was use the bank app on his phone and transfer some money into his account so that he would have enough. Now that he had calmed down he realized that it was Friday and he was going to pick up his check from work so he could replace the unexpected amount he had to pay!

Many times when the unexpected happens we lose our focus because of anxiety, stress, and fear! When we lose our focus we can’t see clearly what’s in our frame. The right focus builds our faith but when we allow the unexpected to take us off our focus, how can we stay on target? The unexpected is something we cannot control, but like a camera 📷 we control what’s in our frame!

The enemy will try to destroy your focus with the unexpected such as health issues, family problems, self-esteem, financial problems and many others but we have to fight for our focus! Don’t allow things we can’t control, control us and take us off our focus! Hebrews 11:3 says “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. ” We must stay focused on our faith and relationship with God and allow Him to create the perfect picture! In order for God to create the perfect picture He needs us to not lose our focus! No one likes a blurry picture so our job is important!

You may experience depression, anxiety, fear, hurt, etc…unexpectedly BUT just because it’s there doesn’t mean you have to keep it in your frame! We must learn to take a deep breath, pray, and ask God to help us keep our focus so that our picture is clear!

God has great vision and purpose for each and every person but we must choose to make the decision to control our frame so our focus isn’t blurred or distorted and we come out of every situation looking like who God has called us to be!

Never allow the unexpected to control your frame!
