Don’t Let Your Heart Be Hardened!
Have you ever heard the saying “Don’t harden your heart” or felt like you could never have a hardened heart because you believe in God? I am sure many of us have. I, myself, have thought that having a hardened heart meant that I didn’t believe in God or didn’t trust God anymore. I knew that I would never be that far gone that I didn’t believe anymore. God had to show me what having a hardened heart or having my spiritual vision impaired really meant!
I was reading “The Power Of A Praying Wife” when God showed me the real meaning of a hardened heart and having my vision impaired by the enemy. We don’t realize that we can pray and talk to God all we want to but do we tell God how we really feel on the inside? Are we honest with God and ourselves about how we really feel? Many times we pray about something and we say and try to make ourselves believe that we believe that what we are praying for will happen, when deep down inside the enemy has told us so many lies that we think things are too far gone to be “fixed”. We may be praying for a friend that God would deliver them from alcoholism, but in the back of our mind we really don’t believe that they will every quit. We may be praying for our finances or our dream home, but in the back of our mind we really don’t believe that we will ever have the finances that we need and want because we don’t see any possible way to achieve it. We don’t realize that the more we believe the lies the enemy tells us, the more our heart gets hardened which impairs the vision God has for us! Soon we are walking around with a hardened heart and impaired vision and not even know it!
Now I know you are thinking to yourself that you are human and sometimes you can’t help but to think or feel a certain way, especially when things have been a certain way for so long! This is where we must be honest with ourselves and God. When we pray and talk to God, we must tell Him how we Really feel deep down inside and ask Him to remove all feelings of fear, doubt, negativity, and apprehension! We must first ask God to help us to have the faith and trust in Him that we need to have in order to see the vision He is showing us! The more we tell God how we honestly feel and allow Him to work in and through us, the more our hearts will become softened towards Him and we will be able to see God’s vision for our lives!
Relationship with God is vital to our existence! As with any relationship, honesty is the best policy! In order to build a quality long lasting relationship with God, we must first be honest with ourselves and Him. From there we can begin to see clearer and start our journey towards the destiny that God has laid out for us. Read Ephesians 1:18-23 and study how seeing clearly will help us to see God’s vision and steer us in the right direction so that we may receive all what God has for us and live the life God intended for us to live. Yes we will still have hard times but with the right vision, we will see clearer and be able to get through those hard times because God has given us power over the enemy! We must start taking advantage of the power God has given us but we can’t do that with impaired vision!
