I Give You All Of Me
As I thought about my prayer to God this week, I realized that the bottom line is that I need Him to speak to my heart! We tend to give our all to someone that can really speak to our heart and pull at our heart strings. That is what we need God to do for us, speak to our hearts so that we will open up and give Him our all!
When was the last time you heard God’s voice? We have to be in a position and posture to allow God to speak to us and really penetrate our hearts. Have you ever really thought about how to do this? Is it the same process for everyone or do we have our own unique way of hearing God? Hearing from God definitely is a matter of the heart in which we have to condition our hearts to hear from God. God may have different ways of speaking to us depending on our hearts posture and condition to be reached. One thing is for sure, if you sincerely seek God, talk to Him and spend time with Him, He will definitely speak to you. As you pray, pray for open ears to hear God clearly.
Search your heart and ask God to remove anything not like Him. If we want to hear from God we need a heart that is in good condition and not carrying heavy loads of unforgiveness, depression, hatred, or anything else not like God.
We need to be ready to actually listen for God’s voice but He is not going to speak to us in ways we do not understand. He will speak to us in a voice we recognize when we come to Him. No matter what our level of understanding, God does want to communicate with us through prayer and through the influence of the Holy Spirit. Whether we respond better to thoughts, feelings, dreams or other means, that is thhe way God will try to communicate with us. We have to be open to hearing His voice however He communicates with us.
In the world that we live in with constant distractions, it is sometimes difficult to recognize God’s voice and understand what he is trying to say. God speaks to his children in many ways, and if you are listening, you can know when he is speaking to you. Christianity is a relationship; every relationship is established and maintained through communication. It is vital that we learn to hear God’s voice, so that we may deepen our relationship with Him. It is God’s plan for us to know Him intimately so we must learn to hear His voice!
Jesus said to His Father, “This is life eternal, that they [believers] might know thee [God] the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent” (John 17:3).
Let our prayer be that God speak to our hearts that we may draw closer to Him and give Him our ALL!
